4.4 Magnitude Earthquake Felt in LA Verne, USGS Reports

4-4 magnitude earthquake hits in Southern California.

Porter Ranch (PRTimes.News) – A preliminary 4.4 magnitude earthquake occurred near LA Verne, San Dimas, and Claremont Tuesday evening, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The first earthquake was detected by the agency at 7:33 p.m., followed by a second 3.4 magnitude temblor one minute after. The preliminary depth of the event was 3.79 miles.

“I was at home in Glendale when I felt the earthquake. I didn’t think it was a very strong quake because I only felt a little shaking for a few moments,” Aaron Brandon said.

According to the agency data, the quake could be felt at varying intensities from Santa Clarita, Palmdale and, San Diego. 

The City of Porter Ranch is located 50 miles north of La Verne.
